Poem by AKM Abdullah

A Different Darkness
One day, a different darkness will cover everything and all the uproar of life will stop. The silence body will be there and the eyes will be look-like two stone.
And then I will never see in an insatiable way the beauty of the Earth, the wonder planet. I will never see the beauty of Bengal. And I will never see a new ugly scene.
I will never hear the twittering of birds, melodious tunes from rivers, mellifluous sound from bangles or the utensils sound from the kitchen. I will never see the tears and hear the scramming of buttered wife. The heart will not tremble when hearing the indecent voices. I couldn’t smell the scary memories of incense. I mightn’t hear the sweetest recitation word of God.
I will not see anything or listen anything –
But, I know,
In the memories of the terrible holly smell of incense; someone will cry silently, everyday every night.
