Poems by- Manojit KumarDas

I also want to be Nilkandh
Poisons all around;
I have been drinking incessantly
The sea churned poison.
The gods in the hope of nectar
are waiting for a long times.
If the nectar rises from the sea
before reaching Hari’s hand
now there would have been Harilut,
Luck or misfortune Whatever you say,
The nectar has not risen, it has risen
From the sea lot of poisons
Now I have been drinking incessantly
poisons,
I am helpless, I have to drink all;
Now I have only one desire
I also want to be! Nilkandha.
A Flower born from the skulls
(dedicated to the martyrs of the liberation war)
Manojit Kumar Das
Hundreds of thousands of skulls
Scattered here and there
From the inside of all those skulls
One day born a flower
Gendua was played
With all those skulls.
From those skulls
Born one day
A Flower. One spring night
The spring breeze blows through the night
The night wakes up with the full moon
The stars stay awake for their lovers
The river sleeps on the shelf at night.
The wings of the nightingale match
The full moon is full of sunshine,
Fragrant Madhavilata
To be drunk in the drunken air.
